What Will it Cost to Apply?
The fees to apply for a concealed firearm permit are $53.25 for Utah residents and $63.25 for non-residents. Please make checks and money orders payable to the “Utah Bureau of Criminal Identification.”
Who is Eligible?
Minimum requirements for application for a concealed firearms permit in Utah are:
Applicant must be at least 21 years of age for the standard permit; at least 18 years of age for the provisional permit
Proof of good character…whereas the applicant;
has not been convicted of a felony;
has not been convicted of any crime of violence;
has not been convicted of any offense involving the use of alcohol;
has not been convicted of any offenses involving the unlawful use of narcotics or other controlled substances;
has not been convicted of any offenses involving moral turpitude;
has not been convicted of any offense involving domestic violence;
has not been adjudicated by a court of a state or of the United States as mentally incompetent, unless the adjudication has been withdrawn or reversed
is qualified to purchase and possess a firearm pursuant to Section 76-10-503 and federal law

The Process Is Simple...
Register (on this page) and pay to reserve your seat in the course. The cost for the course is $100.00.
Don’t forget your Driver’s License or ID and any other applicable documents. Residency will be determined by your state-issued identification.
Upon arrival, we will have your paperwork ready for you to complete and all you need to do is fill it out and sign. Furthermore, we will then take your photo, fingerprints and prepare your paperwork for snail mail delivery to BCI.

Utah courses do not require live fire exercises so no firearm needed for the course. We focus on the laws so you know what to do before you pull the trigger.
Everything is done at one time. Geared Up takes the worry and work out of obtaining your Utah Concealed Firearm Permit.
Utah’s CFP permit cannot lawfully be obtained through an online course. It must be taught in person. If you are offered such a course, it will not meet the requirements to obtain a Utah Concealed Firearm Permit!
How Much does it Cost…
The cost of $100.00 is for the required education course. Photos $10.00, prints $25.00 and application assistance. The State of Utah $63.25 for non-residents to process your application and perform the background check. This is the total out of pocket costs $193.25.
The payment to the state of Utah via credit/debit card, check, money order or cashiers check is submitted with your application and is processed separately from the fee for this course. It may take several weeks for BCI to process this payment.
